Scientific notation is a way to express very large or very small numbers in the form:

a × 10^b

Where:

• a (coefficient) is a number between 1 and 10 (1 ≤ |a| < 10)
• b (exponent) is an integer

Examples:

• 300,000,000 = 3 × 10⁸
• 0.000000004 = 4 × 10^-9

You can enter numbers in either standard format (1500000) or scientific notation (1.5e6 or 1.5 × 10^6).
